  4. MORE SENSES • SMELL and TASTE • Comparisons • Descriptive Adjectives • Intensity • Pleasantness • Type • TOUCH • Texture • Temperature • Weight • Intensity

  5. VIVID LANGUAGE • ACTIVE VERBS • Vivid, detailed and specific • Show, not tell • The team captain proudly accepted the award. vs. • The team captain marched to the podium, grasped the trophy, and gestured toward his teammates. • COMPARISONS • Simile • Metaphor • Personification
