Features: High Data Rates • includes MIMO antenna techniques with flexible schemes Quality of Service (QoS) • can map to code points enabling end-to end IP based QoS Scalability • different canalizations to meet worldwide requirements Security • support for a diverse set of user credentials exists

Limitations of WiMax Low bit rate over Long distance doesn’t work when: • distance range increases ,the bit rate decreases • to increase bit rate, we should reduce the distance range Speed of connectivity • any user closer to the tower can get high speed • user exist at the cell edge from the tower can only have 14Mbit/s Sharing of bandwidth • bandwidth is shared between users in a specified radio sector. • functionality could go down if more one users exist in a sector.

Disadvantage Lack of Quality Service • due to heavy traffic, it is very hard to maintain high quality Wimaxrange • speed drops considerably if user stays away from specified area WimaxBandwidth • Bandwidth is collective amongst clients in a specified zone • many users in one area, speed decreases.

Security of WiMaxTechnology WiMAX Coverage • speed and mobility -knock the door at coverage. • fixed users -can access and it ranges 50 km or 30 miles • mobile users – accessible within the range of 5-15 km or 3-10 miles. • it is recievinghigh frequency band to operate • welcomes customers in perspective of speed and reliability • supports broadband connection and also acts hot spots

WiMax Application • provides prospective cost saving and service efficiency • important application is business, consumer connectivity, and backhaul • carry real augmentation to communications for quick response • deploys a temporary communication services and speed up network • enables to get temporary access to media and employees • can access easily to premises equipment for events
