Until the First Collision 1977: Met Alvin Tollestrup at ISABELLE Workshop at BNL. 1978: Proposal to KEK to participate pp collider experiment at Fermilab. - W/Z , -Higgs, -SUSY/Technicolor searches,... 1979: Approved/Funded by Japanese goverment. US-Japan treaty on the collaboration in HEP made. 1982: DOE approved Fermilab Collider Project. Basic detector components done by 1984 -CTC, -VTPC, -Solenoid, -EM&HAD Calorimeters, -Muon Counters 1984 Oct.14 First Collision

  4. Where CDF stands today ? - TeV4TeV - In the past, important discoveries were made in well established laboratories/accelerators when a new accelerator is just coming along. SAGA of J/psi Discovery - Turning period from BNL/SLAC to FNAL - • Prologue: A vague bump in mu+mu- mass spectum at a BNL fixed target experiment. • J/psi Discovery at BNL/SLAC. • Epilogue: confirmed J/psi at E.S. of SLAC.
