  2. ECAL: nuove valutazioni (M€) Oltre alle altre stime fornisco quella del diretto interessato (J.C. Brient) 1) the today cost of the silicon is in fact smaller than 8$ (about 6) 2) A reasonable prediction is about 3$ for the time of the LC (=TDR) 3) optimist price could be 2$ 4) The today version (LDC01) include only 30 layers and a radius smaller and barrel lenght smaller leading to about 1800 m2. A reduction to 1200 m2 seems possible (20 layers and smaller length and radius) 5) cost of the electronics , I don't know. The cost only sligthly depend on the channels numbers. The overall cost of the readout at about 10M$ seems a reasonable estimation Da discussione con vari esperti (non esistendo caso analogo per tipologia e dimensione): improbabile scendere sotto 1 €/can cui va inevitabilmente aggiunto altrettanto per connessioni, cavi, alimentazioni, raffreddamento ecc.
