  1. FastSPECT II Imager • Key Features: • 16 cameras in 2 rings of 8 with adjustable radial position • 5 axis robotic stage for calibration and imaging subject positioning • Exchangeable cylindrical imaging apertures for choice of magnification/field-of-view • Listmode data acquisition architecture • Full dynamic imaging capability for periodic and non-periodic processes • Gigabit data link for compute-intensive processing on mini Beowulf cluster • Mini Beowulf cluster installed.

  2. What makes it FastSPECT? • Enough modular cameras (24) to collect entire data set required for tomographic reconstruction without camera or imaging subject motion • Maximum likelihood estimation techniques via pre-computed 20-bit lookup tables • Full calibration of camera position response functions (MDRF’s) • Full calibration of imaging matrix (PSF) ie No idealized modelling What makes the new imager FastSPECT II? • Enlarged camera active area with larger PMT array • Listmode data acquisition with no binning, compression or other information loss – all raw data available for processing • Dynamic imaging capability without requirement for gating - every event is timed to 30 ns • Improved robotic stage for more convenient and precise calibration and subject positioning

  3. FSII: Dynamic Image Sequence 5 second time steps, 1 axial slice 18 mm 18 mm 99mTc Glucarate Uptake in Xenograft Tumor on Mouse Mammary Fat Pad
