DNA cut and paste • pick out four colors -- one for each base • label all nucleotides with S, P, and whichever base letter is appropriate (A, G, C, or T) • use four different colors to color the nucleotides. • cut out the nucelotides, and assemble a DNA strand with the following sequence: • 3’-ATGC|CCGGAGCTTATA-5’ • make another display to show the replication of this molecule. • “unzip” from the 5’ end to the “|” and show the assembly of new DNA • color the new bases that are being added using the same color scheme that you set above. for NEWLY ADDED nucleotides, use DOTTED LINES (or stripes or dots or some other variant of the existing color)
