Allow me to introduce…myself! • I am 23 years old and alum of the University of Minnesota • I have a minor in Spanish • My hobbies include: reading, traveling, watching movies and cooking
My personal teaching philosophy • I follow the Idealist perspective on the philosophy of education. • One of the main beliefs is that “Education is transformation: Ideas can change lives”. • My role as teacher: • To bring out that which is already in the student’s mind • I believe in moral education as a means of linking ideas to action • I see myself as a role model, so I act & speak accordingly • Methods of Instruction: • I plan to take an active part in students’ learning • Students are encouraged to discuss, analyze, synthesize & apply what they’ve read to contemporary society • I encourage my students to work in groups when appropriate • Next or Outline

Why are rules needed? • One is to maintain an organized and structured classroom. • Another reason is that each child needs to feel safe and respected. • Rules can set the tone for a constructive and positive learning environment.
