Product Advertisement Copy • Big Idea: In order for the audience to buy into what you are selling you must use precise language to capture the essence of your product. • Essential Question: How do Advertising and Marketing campaigns capture their target audience and entice them to purchase their product?
Product Advertisement CopyWhat is it? • Text of a print, radio, or television advertising messagethat aims at catching and holding the interest of the prospectivebuyer, and at persuading him or her to make a purchase all within a few short seconds. • What kind of jobs require the skill to write copy or persuasive writing? Copywriters, Account Executives, or Advertising Associates: They write advertising copy for use by publication or broadcast media to promote sale of goods and services. Now think out of the box: an attorney wants the judge or jury to buy his argument.
Persuasive Ad • When you persuade others through writing you will seek to describe and inform. • This skill will be useful when you raise money for a mission trip or a charity.
End Product – Task Analysis for Persuasive Ad with Copy and Photo • Choose a toy or digital device • Answer brainstorming questions on Junoed.com about your product. Answers due in class on Friday, April 5, 2013. • Write 6-10 sentence copy for advertisement. • Integrate photo into the ad • If you make a guaranteed claim, make sure that it is truthful or realistic • You may use first perosn (we) and second person (you). • You may break a few formal writing rules such as: use phrases, short sentences, contractions, and start sentences with: and, but, so, or because.

End Product Development Schedule – Upload by Monday night, April 15, 2013 • Wednesday – Product Advertisement. • Thursday – Evaluate ads and answer questions on Junoed.com. • Friday – Choose Topic and answer questions on junoed.com related to your product. • Monday – Write draft of advertisement and select photo of product. • Tuesday - Finish writing draft and selecting photo. • Wednesday – Read draft of ad to classmate’s to receive an analysis and suggested improvements. • Thursday - Read draft of ad to classmate’s to receive an analysis and suggested improvements. • Friday - Finish typing final copy and photo placement.
