  3. Encouraging Study Abroad: • 500 WKU students abroad each year; target of 1,000 • More than 50 options in 30 countries • WKU waives tuition for faculty-led programs • WorldTopper Scholarships

  4. International Students: • 650 non-immigrant students, more than half in graduate programs; target of 2,000 • All immigration issues handled by ISSS • English language training through ESLI • Intl student recruitment by Navitas, ESLI, UG admissions, & Graduate Studies

  5. Global Encounters: • On-going series of international events (lectures, films, arts, etc.) • “International Reach” Week, Sept 24-30 • Good opportunities to provide students with co-curricular learning

  6. Opportunities for Teaching and Research Overseas • WKU exchange programs(China, Taiwan, Korea, France, Germany, others) • Faculty-led study abroad courses • Teaching on WKU consortial and partner programs(KIIS, CCSA, Harlaxton, Semester-at-Sea) • External fellowships(Fulbright, DAAD, etc.) Workshops on these opportunities Sept. 27, 29, 30 Faculty House, noon—1:30 p.m. (lunch provided)

  7. Global Pathways Initiative: • Ensuring an international dimension to every graduating baccalaureate student • Global learning outcomes tailored to each major • PCAL & CEBS currently designing pathways for their majors • Other four colleges to follow in pairs
