NACK-Oriented Reliable Multicast (NORM) Update Brian Adamson, et al. <adamson@itd.nrl.navy.mil>
Status Overview • Updated drafts to: • “draft-ietf-rmt-pi-norm-06”, and • “draft-ietf-rmt-bb-norm-05” (including Postscript versions) • Both documents are now complete and fully complete with RMT Author Guidelines. • All previous comments have been incorporated. • Web site for NRL open-source reference implementation established at:http://norm.pf.itd.nrl.navy.mil
draft-ietf-rmt-bb-norm-05 • Document reorganized to fully comply with RMT Author Guidelines. • TBD sections have now been completed. • References to appropriate building block drafts and RFCs have been updated.
draft-ietf-rmt-pi-norm-06 • Document reorganized to fully comply with RMT Author Guidelines. • Terminology changed in congestion control description to be consistent with TFMCC building block. • NORM_CC_FLAG_LEAVE added per TFMCC recommendation to indicate receivers preparing to leave group and thus should be ignored for congestion control operation. • FEC Payload Identifier fields of NORM_DATA packets consistent with format given in FEC Building Block RFC • References and Security Considerations finally completed. • NORM-CC operation has been tested on Ethernet in addition to previous ns-2 simulations.
Next Steps • Internet drafts are stable. • NRL open source implementation will continue to mature. • Further experiments and simulations will be performed with the protocol.
