  1. Followers of God(Ephesians 5:1,2) I. “Be followers of God” (vs. 1a). A. Being a disciple of Jesus means that we follow Him. (Matthew 4:17-20; 9:9; John 1:43). B. Following Jesus demands we follow certain rules. (Matthew 8:19-22; Mark 8:34-37; John 10:1-5;12:24-26).

  2. Followers of God(Ephesians 5:1,2) II. “As dear children” (vs. 1b). A. The follower of Christ is a Child of God. (John 1:11-13). B. We must live as obedient children. (1 Peter 1:13-16).

  3. Followers of God(Ephesians 5:1,2) III. “Walk in love” (vs. 2a). A. Love is the nature of God and His children. (1 John 4:15-16).

  4. Followers of God(Ephesians 5:1,2) IV. “As Christ also has loved us” (vs. 2b). A. We love as Jesus loved. (John 15:9-14).

  5. Followers of God(Ephesians 5:1,2) V. “And given Himself for us” (vs. 2c). A. “Consider Him who endured...” (Hebrews 12:1-3).

  6. Followers of God(Ephesians 5:1,2) VI. “An offering and a sacrifice to God” (vs. 2d). A. We are a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1-2).
