WALKING UPRIGHTLY ACCORDING TO THE TRUTH Gal. 2:11ff
Living the Life • The evidence of our faith. • Eph. 5:1 • “Crowing in the barn yard no more makes you a rooster than amening in the church building makes you a Christian.” • Matt. 3:8; James 2:18
What Did He Do… • That was so wrong? • He stopped associating with the Gentiles. Was that so wrong? YES, it was. • Gal. 3:26-30; James 2:1-13 • Why did he do it? To appear something to the Jews that he wasn’t. • And he knew better. Acts 10:44-47; 11:2-3, 17-18; 15:7-11
The Christian Life… • Consists of following the Christ. And He loved us all. • John 8:11; Mark 2:15-17 • To know the truth is not the same thing as walking uprightly according to the truth.
Marks of the Upright Life • Honesty – at work, home, school. With self and others. • Morally upright. • Two situations with mechanics • Matt. 7:12. • Keeping peace, in the church and elsewhere. 2 Tim. 2:22; Heb. 12:14
Inconsistencies Promote Dissimulation • Peter needed to be true to his beliefs. • So do we.
