Recycling and Children Eliza Rogers and Ava Hardin (2)
Problem (3) Only 9.5% of kids in public schools recycle The current generation of young people will know how to not recycle unless taught how to (Department of Sanitation)
What Caused the Problem (4) Children are not educated on recycling There is no encouragement in school or at home to recycle
Solution #1 (5) We plan on going into classrooms of kids ages 5-9 and teaching them about recycling/composting A series of mini lessons will be taught and we will incorporate fun activities such as a recycling song
Solution #2 (6) After out mini lessons, we plan on setting up recycling/composting systems in our community’s school that will be kid-friendly
How will this help the community? (1) Our kids are our future; to save the environment there needs to be some type of recycling knowledge With our plan, we are looking to help children and in turn, better our community
