2. Mission Through the donation of textbooks, Books for Children of the World is helping reduce illiteracy throughout the world, and is helping to increase a child’s hope for a better and brighter future.

3. History • Books for Children of the World has sent over 12 million books to third world countries since 1991. • This is based on donations from school districts like ours.

4. Action Steps • District wide collection of textbooks • Consolidate in a central location • Must have freight dock or forklift

5. Action Steps • Palletize and shrink wrap • All pallets must be shrink wrapped from top to bottom • Wrap bottom of pallet extra thick • Shrink wrap needs to extend all the way to the floor–actually wrapping the wooden pallet

7. Considerations • Due to the large adoption this year, we would like to target full truckloads to minimize our freight costs. • 14 pallets – pup • 24 pallets – semi-truck

9. Considerations • Small districts • If you do not have enough for a full truck, try to coordinate a consolidation with other districts in your area. • We will do a single pickup once the books are palletized and ready at a central location.
