  1. ROOBY Short-term composite outcomes: 7.0% with off-pump vs. 5.6% with on-pump (p = 0.19) Long-term composite outcomes: 9.9% vs. 7.4% Cardiac death: 2.7% vs. 1.3% Graft patency: 82.6% vs. 87.8% (p < 0.001) Trial design: Patients scheduled for elective or urgent CABG were randomized to off-pump (n = 1,104) vs. on-pump (n = 1,099) surgical revascularization. Follow-up was 1 year. Results (p = 0.04) (p = 0.03) % Conclusions • Among patients undergoing elective or urgent CABG, use of off-pump procedures does not result in similar clinical outcomes as on-pump procedures • Off-pump CABG associated with worse outcomes, including higher cardiac death and lower graft patency at 1 year Long-term composite outcomes Long-term cardiac death Off-pump On-pump Shroyer AL, et al.
