Smurfit Kappa Ania BM3 – application resultsMetso IQ quality control system and IQ Steam Profiler were installed in 2010 Dr. MassimilianoListi, Mill Director: “Even moisture is so important and challenging nowadays since new higher speed corrugating processes are more sensitive to moisture variation.” Production rates on BM3 at the Smurfit Kappa Ania mill are up by 4% and the moisture uniformity is much improved. Metso IQ Steam Profiler coaxed an additional 1 to 1.5% dryness from an existing shoe press. The 2.7 meter trim board machine produces 100 to 200 g/m2 linerboard from 100% recycled OCC furnish
