Commitment to Caring The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) was established in 1929 The mission is to Inspire Jews throughout the world to Connect with their people, heritage, land, and Empower them to build a thriving Jewish future and a strong Israel Aliyah Partnership with Israel Jewish-Zionist education
Partnership with Israel • Established in 1994 by JAFI, JFNA and the United Israel Appeal • Involving world Jewry with Israelis in shaping the future character of the Jewish Peoplehood and the Israeli Society • 46 Partnerships, 550 overseas communities partnering with Israeli cities and regions • More that 300,000 participants from Israel and overseas communities take part in some 500 programs each year
Mission Statement To promote mutually beneficial endeavors between the people of the Central Area Consortium (15 U.S. Cities) and the Western Galilee, forging relationships through programs that build Jewish Identity for all involved and strengthen ties and connections between Israel and the United States. Education Task Force:from Preschool to College • 160 kindergarten teachers and 1000’s of young children take active part in the HavaNagila activities • 60 Schools, 100 teachers, 10,000 children participates in the Twinning programs • 500 WG teens bring the Israeli spirit to the US communities through the Kefiada, Teen to Teen and JCC Maccabi programs • 1,000 Consortium teenagers and students visit the Western Galilee through various programs like Birthright missions • 100 of Consortium students volunteer for a period of time in the Western Galilee • 60 Lectures from colleges and universities perform joint researches and exchange knowledge
Medical Task Force:Medical Personnel to Administration • Cooperation between numerous Doctors from the Western Galilee Hospital and Doctors in the Consortium communities • Share Experiences & specializations: 10 ERG courses(Emergency Response Group) with more than 180 medical staff • Externship program for Medical Students at the Western Galilee Hospital
Arts Task Force:Including all forms of creativity • To develop relationships between people through creative collaboration, experience, and exposure to the arts. • 450 Artists create, perform, and work together on arts programs – touching large audiences and 1000’s of community members • The top Western Galilee art groups represent the WG in the Consortium Communities
Missions & Marketing Task Force • 10,000 people from the U.S. Consortium communities have visited the Western Galilee • Widen circles • “Get the word out” about Partnership
Regional Development Task Force • Create a Round Table with regional economic decision makers and domestic entrepreneurs for encouraging collaborations in the region • Initiate and implement economic and tourist projects with the economic corporations in Akko and Matte Asher • Build social network for business people with MATI, Small Business Development Center, in the Consortium and the Western Galilee
Budapest Connection Task Force • Build and strengthen the connection of the Consortium and the Western Galilee with the Jewish Community in Budapest by various projects: • Triteen – 90 teens • Kefiada in the Western Galilee – 30 volunteer students • ERG – 6 doctors
Youth Futures in Akko and Matte Asher • A unique and early intervention program creating opportunities for children and youth • 2 Directors, 2 coordinators, 24 trustees in 11 Schools together with the parents and the officials in the authorities and schools provide real change for more than 300 children and youth
