Our STC, Kim Riggs, leads our STLP (Student Technology Leadership Program). The group is made up of 22 intermediate students who apply to join the group. They work during school hours to inventory computer issues, check in with teachers, etc. They also meet after school weekly to complete more advanced projects that time constraints may not allow for during the normal school day. The following PowerPoint is a project the group worked on as a memorial to Steve Jobs. It includes both literary (poetry) and informational writing.

“As individuals, people are inherently good. I have a somewhat more pessimistic view of people in groups. And I remain extremely concerned when I see what's happening in our country, which is in many ways the luckiest place in the world. We don't seem to be excited about making our country a better place for our kids.“Steve JobsRead more: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/s/steve_jobs.html#ixzz1dR7eUlZe Shannon Austin-Goodin

“Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”Steve Jobs Shannon Austin-Goodin

“Bottom line is, I didn't return to Apple to make a fortune. I've been very lucky in my life and already have one. When I was 25, my net worth was $100 million or so. I decided then that I wasn't going to let it ruin my life. There's no way you could ever spend it all, and I don't view wealth as something that validates my intelligence.” Steve Jobs SHANNON Austin Goodin
