  4. Jiuqudong (Tunnel of Nine Turns) Trail Introduction The trail is one of the most scenic sections of Taroko Gorge. 700 m one-way in length, and needs to be turned back along the original path. The trail is leaning against the deep mountains and deep valleys, and looking down is the swift Liwu Creek, the mountains on both sides of the creek are close to each other, the uncanny workmanship and the steep terrain are amazing and shocking. The Jiuqudong Trail was originally the old section of Central Cross-Island Highway. After the opening of the Jiuqudong Tunnel in 1996, the old section was changed to a trail through the construction of facilities and safety features. The original stone tunnels and rocky mountain wall are retained in the trail, and the construction methods and traces of the highway excavation can be seen at that time. Here is a flat and wide leisure trail suitable for all ages. 九曲洞步道簡介 步道是太魯閣峽谷風景最優美的部分之一，全長 700 公尺，需原路折返。步道緊倚著高山幽谷，向下俯瞰則是急湍的立霧溪水，兩岸山壁緊峙，鬼斧神工與險峻的地勢令人嘆為觀止。 九曲洞步道原是中橫公路舊道，1996 年九曲洞隧道通車後，公路舊道改為步道。隨後再加強安全及各項設施後，成為現今的九曲洞步道。步道中保留原有隧道和岩石山壁，可以看出當時開鑿公路的施工方法與痕跡。 這裡是一條老少咸宜的平坦寬闊休閒步道。

  10. The Jiuqudong Trail was originally the old road of the Central Cross-Island Highway. After the Jiuqudong Tunnel was opened to traffic in 1996, the old road was changed to a trail. 九曲洞步道原是中橫公路舊道，1996 年九曲洞隧道通車後，公路舊道改為步道。
