OBSEMission The mission of the OBSE is to organize and promote sporting events and competition, healthy living lifestyles, provide financial resources for needed relief and support for education while contributing to the economic impact for the Outer Banks of North Carolina. ~OBSE is a non-profit organization.~

  4. The Gateway Bank Outer Banks Marathon and OBSE events have generated approximately $25.6 Million Dollars in Local Economic Impact over the past 6 years.

  5. 2012 Projected Total Economic Impact Based on 10,000 estimated total OBSE event participants and their guests. $10,060,000

  6. 2011 Nags Head Economic Impact From All Events Registration data indicated: Average # of Nights participants stayed - 2 nights Average # of guests brought with them - 2.5 guests Total number of Hotels booked 869 Total number of Rental Houses booked 514

OBVB Projected Economic Impact Formula: Per Night- Hotel $85 Rental House $525 Total Hotel Revenue $147,730 Total Rental Home Revenue + $539,700 Total $687,430 2975 Participants indicated staying in Nags Head Amount spent daily per person $75 Average of 3.5 people staying 2 days Total $1,115,625

  8. Total 2011 Estimated Economic Impact for Nags Head $1,115,625 Per Diem + $687,430 Accommodations $1,803,055 Total Economic Impact Based on % of share in 2011 alone, NH received an estimated $10,700 in occupancy tax from the County.
