F&ES Student Assistantship • Wage is $15/hour • Average 10 hours/week • Maximum 19 hours/week when school is in session • Maximum 40 hours/week when school is on break • Total hours cannot exceed 280 hours/year • Please notify us if you wish to decline your Student Assistantship
Direct Loan • For U.S. citizens and permanent residents only • No credit check required • Fixed interest rate of 6.8% • 0.5% origination fee • Six month grace period • Standard 10 year repayment term with 6 month grace period after you graduate or fall below half-time enrollment • Subsidized: need-based • Federal government pays interest on loan while you are in school and during grace period and any deferments • Unsubsidized: not need-based • Either pay interest “as you go” or it will be capitalized
Direct Grad PLUS Loan • For U.S. citizens and permanent residents only • Credit check required • Fixed interest rate of 7.9% • 2.5% origination fee • Standard 10 year repayment term with 45 day grace period after you graduate or fall below half-time enrollment • Unsubsidized, i.e., either pay interest “as you go” or it will be capitalized
Yale International Student Loan • For students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents • No credit check required • Fixed interest rate of 7.75% • 5% origination fee • Standard 10 year repayment term with 6 month grace period after you graduate or fall below half-time enrollment • Unsubsidized, i.e., either pay interest “as you go” or it will be capitalized
