  1. Friday: • Review four sentence structures • Write examples for each type.

  2. The four basic structures of sentences are: • simple • compound • complex • compound-complex

  3. Without using your notes, fill in the missing chunks of the sentence construction chart.

  4. Now your job is to write four examples of these different types of sentences. Your final product will be a variety of sentences.

  5. Suggestion: It is easier to start with a simple sentence and work your way to the more complicated structures. When you have completed all four, read an elbow partner’s sentences. Make suggestions and corrections. Finally determine the best sentence in the room.
