SMR25 – 2 steps • Step 1: Collect more information about drug use and social circumstances • Step 2: Follow-up System • Number of people in treatment • Length of time in treatment • Changes over time
What this means (Step 1)… • SMR25 paper form replaces SMR24 • Changes based on information from: • Service feedback on SMR24 • Scottish Executive • Specialist groups e.g. SDF • Clinicians • Pilot study
Pilot study February 2006 The Aims • To test the acceptability of the new data items • To prepare for the national roll out of the new data system The Sites • 6 services in West Lothian • 1 service in Galashiels
Results from the pilot study • 7 services agreed to participate • Total of 43 forms completed • Comments generally positive • Forms similar to SMR24 • Add ‘housing’ and ‘child and family’ as source of referrals • Add ‘debt’ to funding drug habit
