Definition of Teacher-directed • The teacher presents a lesson or sets the learner up to respond successfully • T sets the occasion for each learner response or set of responses • Teacher reinforces the learner for responding on a continuous or intermittent schedule of reinforcement
Definition of Semi-directed • The teacher presents a firm assignment • Assignment sets the occasion for responding • Completing the assignment is automatically reinforcing
Definition of Peer-directed • The teacher announces free-time or presents an assignment • Peers set the occasion for responding • Peer reinforces responding • Or,T reinforces responding among peers on a continuous or intermittent schedule of reinforcement
Definition of Non-directed • The teacher announces free-time or presents an assignment • Preferred activity or assignment set the occasion for responding • Teacher reinforces the learner for responding on a continuous or intermittent schedule of reinforcement • Or, participating in the activity or completing the assignment is automatically reinforcing

Arrange Parts of IC’s to create a class schedule • Select a theme, academic or community based activity • Create a classroom schedule for this activity that includes • At least 2 instructional conditions • All learners and staff • Occurring within a thirty to forty minute block
Application • Return to classroom and arrange the IC’s to carry out the theme, academic or community based activity you illustrated • Begin to consider infusing CLM formats across your daily class routines by arranging and rearranging parts of the IC’s
