What is it?????? • Temperature is the measure of warmth or coldness of a substance or object.
What makes it warmer or colder?!?!?! • It gets warmer or colder by electrical power plants and industrial factories. It gets warmer or colder from them by the factories and power plants burning fuels to make the air warmer which makes the pond a warmer temperature. (Unnatural) • The weather outside also affects temperature. (Natural)
How to Perform!?!?!?!?! • To take the temperature of the pond, you take the thermometer and put it in the pond. Hold it in there for a few seconds and then take it out and look how high the red line went. Wherever it stopped is the temperature. • When doing this, be careful because it’s glass! If it breaks, be sure to tell Ms. Reese.
Environmental Problems • If the water reaches to high of a temperature, then there will not be enough oxygen for the aquatic life. • In the winter the cold temperatures cause ice to build and decrease the solubility of the pond water, which also makes it hard for oxygen to get into the pond.
