Data Warehouse Bus Architecture • The DW bus architecture implies that dimensions in the data warehouse will be conformed • Conformed dimensions use common column names and definitions • The implication is that data in one data mart can be used interchangeably with fact tables in other data marts

  3. The data warehouse bus architecture • Rows are business processes and will be built into first-level data marts • Columns represent the common business dimensions • Shaded cells show which dimensions will be used in each data mart
