Status Report, SPSC Goal • Direct CP violation in K± ± ±, K± ±00 M(u)1 + gu,u = f( ) g = g+ - g- = 2Ag<g> (Ag ) < 210 – 4 (limited by statistics) g + - g - Ag = ———— g+ + g- Requirements to experiment: • high statistics (~ few109 decays) • stability in time • set –up symmetry
Status Report, SPSC Measurements & predictions Experimental precisions by 2005: [Ag~10-3] Ford et al. (1970) 10-2 SM estimates vary within an order of magnitude (few 10-6…8x10-5). Models beyond SM predict substantial enhancement partially within the reach of NA48/2. HyperCP prelim. (2000) |Ag| TNF prelim.
