  2. Newspapers in Britain was a direct result of the process of industrialization during the 18th and 19th centuries. When is the birthday of Chinese newspapers? ? Chinese newspapers should be under the supervision of Communist Party of China. Therefore, it was born on 15th June,1948.

Ownership • In Britain • Private, not public • Usually free from financial support from political parties or from the government • Since the 20th century, concentration and conglomeration of ownership • In China • Some are Private , most of them are public • People’s Daily • Xinhua Daily • Guangzhou Daily • Oriental Daily News

  4. Types of Newspapersin Britain • Popular Newspapers • dominates the market; they provide a mainly entertainment and sports news, usually in a sensational or scandalous way, they use their own interpretation of current news issues.

  5. Quality Newspapers Objective presentation, less sensational or emotive language, wide vocabulary and complex syntax. Less visual support.
