OBJECTIVES and OUTCOME • Objective: Coordination, Evidence Based Programming, Monitoring of the PBP in Uganda • Outcome 1: Improved coordination, communications and resource mobilisation • Outcome 2: Enhanced joint monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems and tools
HIGHLIGHT OF RESULTS 2011 • Coordination structures for the management of the programme in place • Enhanced level of synergies within and across JPs • E-MIS in place, tool may be adopted by other joint programmes • Communication strategy – UN logo, videos
HIGHLIGHT OF RESULTS 2011 5) Research agenda for operational learning elaborated 6) Two studies completed, one near completion and two trend analyses due by the end of 2012 7) Organisation of Peace Day Celebrations (21.09.11) Programme’s coherence enhanced, focus on underexplored conflict drivers, high level advocacy
CHALLENGES • Internal, administrative nature • Internal, agencies’ management VS joint coordination management (changing mindsets) • Vertical communication within agencies (field vs country level) • External, vis-à-vis cooperation with non UN entities • Quality of reports: list of activities vs. key contributions/milestones towards achievement of targets
LESSONS LEARNED • Enhance cooperation with the backbone of the administrative system (Country Level) • Facilitate information sharing between country and field offices • Involve in advance local authorities in the organisation of events/Peace Day
PRIORITY ACTIONS 2012 • Resource mobilisation (through coordination systems) • Accelerate production of deliverables of research activities (admin procedures). • Adopt Results-Based Management (RBM) principles in planning, monitoring and reporting • Emphasise importance of joint monitoring visits. • Report on best practices and lessons learnt/June 2012. • Research conference on Peacebuilding (4-5 April 2012)
