AAP checklist for use by FSLC partners • Purpose: to guide FSLC partners on incorporating Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) throughout the Program Management Cycle (PMC) and how to engage the community at each stage in the cycle; • Accountability refers to the responsible use of power, combined with effective and quality programming that recognizes the community’s dignity, capacity, and ability for self-determination. • AAP is ensuring that women, men, girls and boys of all ages, diversity of backgrounds and disabilities, have a fair and meaningful access to: • Active involvement in the design, monitoring and evaluation of the goals and objectives of project; • Means to participate in decisions that affect them, including fair and transparent systems of representation; • Appropriate, relevant and timely information; • Two-way communication feedback channels that facilitate feedback and complaints and provide redress for those complaints IMO Information gathered by FSLC actors should always be disaggregated by AGE and GENDER. When the checklist says “all groups” this always includes women, children, men, elderly persons, persons with specific needs, and persons with disabilities. When engaging with communities, always include women, girls, boys, and men in mixed AND separate group discussions.
