Jesus and the Paralytic Man. St. Mary COC – Grade 3 Sunday-school Lesson. One day, there was a feast and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. On His way there, there was a pool, called BETHESDA with 5 porches around it. Many people were waiting around this pool.

  1. Jesus and the Paralytic Man St. Mary COC – Grade 3 Sunday-school Lesson

  2. One day, there was a feast and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. On His way there, there was a pool, called BETHESDA with 5 porches around it.

  3. Many people were waiting around this pool. There were sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, … But, Why?

  4. …At a certain time, an angel would go down and stir up the water; then, whoever stepped in first was healed of ANY disease!!!

  5. There was a man who was paralyzed for 38 years! …He stayed by the pool hoping that somehow he could be healed too.

  6. Rise, Take up your bed and walk! I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up… Do you want to be made well? Jesus saw him lying there, and He had a compassion upon him.

  7. And immediately the man was made well!

  8. He took up his bed, and walked! But, that day was the Sabbath . . .

  9. It is not lawful for you to carry your bed on the Sabbath! He who made me well said to me, “Take up your bed and walk.” But the man did not know who healed him The strict Jews said to him…

  10. See, you have been made well. Sin no more… Lest a worse thing come upon you. Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him…

  11. The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

  12. Discussion “For I am the Lord who heals you” - Exodus 15:26 Q. What did you notice about the disabled man? Q. Why did Jesus ask him if he *wants* to be made well? Q. Why can Jesus heal anyone and anything? Because He is God. He is THE Creator. …Since He created everything, fixing things is a piece of cake, right!? 

  13. QUIZ GAME! TRUE OR FALSE: "Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years." JOHN 5:5 "When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been in that condition a long time, He said to him, 'Do you want to go in the pool?' " JOHN 5:6 Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and get into the water." JOHN 5:8. "And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked..." JOHN 5:9 Right away, the man went to show-off his new health to all his friends!

  14. Jesus has the power to heal! How can I use it? Pray for God to heal me when I’m sick, sad, mad, or hurt in any way Pray for God to heal others, whether it is their body or their spirit that is sick. Pray that God heals my spirit from my sins, especially those STUBBORN sins that I having trouble getting rid of!!!

  15. Believe & say Amen! • To know: What ever I am suffering from, Jesus is more powerful! • To feel: Jesus’ has POWER over sickness and over ALL things! • To practice: Remember to seek God’s power over any kind of illness or weakness (in body or spirit)
