Biography of Terry Fox • Terry fox was born in Winnipeg ,Manitoba, but was raised in British Columbia. • Terry played a boat load of sports, playing soccer, rugby, and baseball, but when he was 18 years old he diagnosed with bone cancer and had to have his right leg amputated above of his right knee. • Terry began his journey on April 20th 1980 and ran 5373km in 143 days. On day 143 he was in need of medical attention as his cancer reappeared in his lungs. • Terry went to school at Simon Fraser University and played for the varsity basketball team in 1977 when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. • Terry sadly passed away on June 28th 1981 when he was only 22 years old.
Issue Terry Fox was involved in • Terry had bone cancer and when he told everybody what he was going to do they were blown away. • Terry was inspired by an amputee in New York who did the New York marathon so when Terry heard and read up about that he was so inspired by that guys determination and his courage he Ran across Canada. • Terry ran on his prosthetic leg in order to raise funds and awareness for all the cancer research in Canada. Obviously it started of slow, but after everybody heard about it was a big thing and by terry running the money and all of the support came in and made an effect on cancer research. • Terry has inspired so many people that people do exactly what terry does. He made so much money for cancer research it unbelievable. Terry is a role model and is one of the biggest hero's in the world.
