  2. What is an illusion?

  3. Anillusion is something that doesn’t really exist.

  4. An animated cartoon is an example of an illusion. The eye sees moving pictures, but in reality the movement is a combination of many motionless frames.

  5. Can you see the profiles of both a vase and two heads?

  6. When you focus on the black you can see the profiles of two faces. When you focus on the white you can see a vase.

  7. What two images can you perceive in this portrait?

  8. Clue Look for the eye of an old woman which is also the ear of a young woman!

  9. Make sure what you read is what you see!

  10. The illusions we just observed were drawn by artists. Butillusions can also be produced by magic.

  17. There is no doubt that Houdini is the most famous magician in history. His ability to get out of seemingly impossible situations made him a legend in his own time.

  19. It was the “Handcuff King” trick that made Houdini famous. There was no one “secret” to Houdini’s ability to escape from handcuffs. He used a combination of technical knowledge, physical skill, and trickery.

  20. Houdini collected and studied locks all of his life. He claimed that he had “photographic eyes” that helped him remember how each lock worked and could be opened.
