THE PEOPLE and PLACES Uganda/Kenya 2017 HERE IS A LOOK AT SOME OF THE FOLKS I MET AND PLACES I WAS ON THIS TRAINING JOURNEY
A young missionary team headed to Romania. They sat near me on my plane and I had the privilege of buying them lunch at the airport in Turkey and of sharing the vision of Disciple Making Movements with them.
Some of the sisters learning hair dressing in the IDMI House of Joy Garage.
This little guy (Future disciple-maker) faithfully attended all the training sessions at the IDMI House of Joy.
This man, possessed by evil spirits, heard worship music and came into our meeting. After a 1.5 hour bruising struggle between the spirits of darkness and the Spirit of light he was set free! Praise God!
Here he is resting peacefully now the evil spirits are gone.
This is his soiled shirt from the blood he began coughing up while the spirits were leaving.
A dear lady in the slum gave me this chicken as a gift. I immediately donated it to the ministry of the IDMI House of Joy.
This guy started to cry whenever he looked at me. I suspect he wasn’t used to seeing people who looked like me.
View of the valley across from the IDMI House of Joy! This area is known for witchcraft and demonic activity. Pray for them.
The Ant hills in Uganda are a little bigger than the ones in Wisconsin.
These are some of the ladies who used to work as prostitutes but are now operating a hair salon. They are definitely in need of more equipment. If you feel led to help please contact us on our website.
The ladies all sleep in the room just off the salon by spreading these mattresses across the floor.
This is one of our most productive disciple makers Esther Taka. She was late meeting us at the salon because she had 30 new disciples to baptize that day! Praising God for her faithfulness!
The boat over my left shoulder transported our group across Lake Victoria so that we could hold a DMM training on Buvuma Island.
They have a very unique way of loading the boat. If they built a dock then the guys in the blue shirts would be out of a job.
Some like to carry the passengers on their shoulders and others ….
Here we are, headed out into the lake. This is very near to the headwaters of the Nile River.
Student leaders on the boat ride home after the island training.
Police officer climbing into our car to take us to the police station and lock up our driver for 48 hours. At the station we prayed and miraculously the chief saw us praying. When we told him we were praying for God to protect him and his officers he let our driver post bail and leave with us right then.
Mount Elgon (+14,000’) sits on the border between Uganda and Kenya. Lots of bananas are grown around the base of this mountain.
This is Grace. She is the youngest of the 22 kids (17 adopted) of our leaders in Webuye, Kenya. When this picture was taken she was asking if she could go home with me. Recently Grace was healed of a herniated belly button which caused 3 of her older siblings to surrender their lives to Jesus and get baptized!
Some of my first friends in Nairobi Kenya. They answered “Yes” no matter the question.
“Consider is pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds.” James 1:2 Here I am stuck in Istanbul Turkey due to a flight cancellation. I’m not actually frowning. I just have 2 dark patches in my goatee on either side of my mouth. Plus I’m exhausted after 2 weeks of trainings.
At least the hotel was a nice one. This is a view of the lobby. The next day I had no trouble getting to my 12 hour flight back to the US.
RETURN HOME • THANK YOU ALL, for your support through prayers and financial partnership. • Almost daily updates are being received about all the disciples being made, and expansion of the Kingdom of God in places like Uganda and Kenya. • Nearly 500 pastors, elders, bishops, and leaders were trained on this trip and all the thanks goes to you who have made all this possible. To learn more or to partner with us please visit our website.
Around the throne of Jesus • The book of Revelation says, “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.” (Revelation 7:9) • What a blessing it is to see the Kingdom of God continue to more and more tribes, languages, peoples, and nations.
