2013 season • 16 regular season games • Three tournaments paid for by ABA • St Cloud (May 18), STMA (June 7) and Forest Lake (June 22) • Potential to qualify for two tourneys in July (GSTC / MBT) • Add tourney in May or June (e.g. St Croix, Becker or Zimmerman) • Up to four nights per week • Field temps need to reach 55 before being available • Our home field will be Shadowbrook South • A true baseball field…..built on a pig farm!
Coaching Philosophy / Objectives: • Focus on effort and attitude. Winning isn’t the #1 priority • Stress importance of teamwork and sportsmanship • Improve baseball IQ • Have fun and help kids develop a love for the game • Help develop skills necessary to be successful at this level and future seasons • Provide a safe environment • ‘Coach them all’ article
Playing Time and Positions: • Kids deserve an opportunity to learn and play multiple positions • PT may be adjusted based on effort, attitude and attendance • Positions will be adjusted throughout the season
Player Expectations: • Have fun, give best effort and be coachable • Be respectful and show good sportsmanship • Work on your skills outside practice • Challenge yourself and brother’s to improve • Understand the “why”
Parent Expectations: • Get your son to practice and games on time • Encourage and demonstrate good sportsmanship • Cheer for all the players • Don’t give instruction from the sideline • Contact me with any concerns or questions • Encourage your son to approach me with the same • Get to know each other – we’re in this together! • Check email and team page for latest information
