  2. Proverbs • What is a Proverb? • Who does it come from? • Proverbs 1:7 Theme of the book • “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” • What does that mean?

  3. Proverbs 3:5-6 • Why would the Solomon put this in a book of “understanding”? • This seems to be a “disclaimer” • What does it mean to trust? • How is this verse applicable to Solomon specifically? • Initial request for wisdom • Remember the Queen of Sheba

Time to modernize the Proverbs • Each of you will receive about 3 proverbs • For your proverb: • Figure out what it means • Create a modern version of it • Try not to make it too similar; it’s for a worksheet tomorrow. • For example: Proverbs 23:7 • What does it mean? • Modern version? • “You are what you think”
