MCHS 2011 – 2012 School Report Card Rating Information • “Absolute Rating” • The rating a school will receive based on the percentage of students meeting standard on the states standards based assessments, and graduation rates (both on-time, and 5 year)
Absolute Rating Calculations • Absolute and Growth Ratings are calculated on a weighted model using; • performance on HSAP for 1sttime (20%) • longitudinal HSAP performance (20%) • percentage of EOC tests administered at school having 70 or above (20%) • on-time graduation rate(30%) • 5 year graduation rate. (10%)

“Growth Ratings” • Means the rating a school will receive based on longitudinally matched student data comparing current performances to the previous year’s performances for the purpose of determining student academic growth.
Growth RatingCalculations Explanation • Longitudinal student-matched data unavailable at the high school level because of the structure of the curriculum and assessments. Therefore, the methodology examines improvement of cohorts of students over time.
The Growth Ratings are calculated using a mathematical formula that results in an index. The index is calculated by subtracting the school’s Absolute Rating index from the prior year from the school’s current year’s Absolute Rating Index. The difference determines the rating as follows:
High School Growth Rating Criteria Calculation for Growth Rating 2011 – 2012: 3.2 – 3.2 = 0.0 Below Average growth rating for 2011 – 2012 school year.
