ARNOTA MONASTERY Arnota Monastery has been founded by Matei Basarab in 1634 and renovated by Constantin Brancoveanu (between 1705 and 1706), Barbu Stirbei Voievode (between 1852 and 1856), the entire establishment was consolidated between 1954 and 1958 and in 1999 the holy establishment was transformed into a convent for nuns.
In the pronaos of the church, there are the tomb of Danciu, the father of Matei Basarab Voivode, and the tomb of Matei Basarab Voivode this being one of the reasons that the Arnota Monastery is one of the most representative historical monuments in our country. Home
COZIA MONASTERY The foundation of Mircea the Ancient was built between 1386 and 1388 in a region which, at that time, was difficult to reach, but where walnut trees easily grew; the name of the place itself derives from the Petcheneg-Cumanian term "coz" = walnut, which became Cozia = nut grove. HUREZI MONASTERY Constantin Brancoveanu Voivode founded the monastery in 1690. The iconostasis was sculpted in lime tree wood, which was overlaid with gold; the silver votive lights (icon lamps) were donated by Maria Doamna, the wife of Constantin Brancoveanu Voivode Home

BISTRITA MONASTERY The main church was founded by the following members of the Craiovesti family:Barbu, Parvu, Danciu and Radu-who were brothers .It was founded between 1492 - 1494.
Very closed to Bistrita Monastery there is the Bistrita Cave, inside which there are two sketes whose dedications days are the ”Vovidenia” and the “Synaxis of the Archangels Michail and Gabriel”. Home
TURNU MONASTERY It is situated on the opposite bank of the Olt from Cozia Monastery . The old church just near entry had been built in the year 1676, founded by Varlaam It has been restored by Gherasim Timus (1894-1911), but the Old Church was destroyed by fire in 1932, only Gherasim Timus`s house and the velley cells escaping .
It has a central cupola, with access on the exterior stairs, which have been recently built on the southern facade, facing the pound. The monks living here live a very austere life and they never eat meat. On the territory of the monastery there are two caves where hermits used to live. Home
CORNETU MONASTERY The holy establishment was founded by the highest-ranking magistrate Mares Bajescu A disastrous fire thoroughly ravaged the monastery in 1808. Subsequently, in 1835, it was reconstructed and repainted. One hundred years late, the cupola and a large part of the altar were demolished; they were rebuilt between 1923 and 1925. Home
OSTROV MONASTERY The church is a place rebuild the oldest churches in the XIV th century or the beginning of the XV century, between 1520-1521, was founded by Neagoe Basarab and his wife, Mrs. Despina.
