  9. Fell as he found,No spot of ground

  10. That looked like El Dorado

  11. And, as his strengthFailed him at length

  12. He met a pilgrim shadow

  13. “Shadow,” said he,“Where can it be?”

  14. “This land of El Dorado”

  15. “Over the MountainsOf the Moon”

  16. “Down the Valleyof the Shadow”

  17. “Ride, boldly ride,”The shade replied

  18. “If you seek for El Dorado!”
