National Board Cohort Meeting Ten
Housekeeping • Make sure you signed in. • Please sit in certificate similar groups. • Burning questions from the homework?
Essential Questions • What are the last minute checks I need to have in place? • How do I know when I am ready to submit? • What are the next steps?
The Final Checks • Are your files saved in the correct format? • Did you follow all conventional rules regarding font and organization? • Have you removed ALL identifying information? • Is your candidate number on all of your documents? • Have you used the checklist you created to ensure that you have not missed any documents? • Did you satisfy the page limit requirements?
You Are Ready When… • You have completed the final checks. • The last two reviews did not produce any needed revisions. • You read what you have written and feel confident that it is CLEAR, CONVINCING, and CONSISTENT. • You have ample time to start the uploading process. Recommendation: Save all of your documents in the ePortfolio system and run through your checklist one more time. Then submit.
Now What? • Celebrate! • Make a reflection journal in which you record what you think you did well and what you would do differently. Record what you want to remember going into the next two components. Write down how you have grown as a teacher. • Take an extended break. You have earned it. • Start thinking about the other components and make yourself some notes in your journal about your early ideas.
Our Remaining Time Do you need a reader? Do you have questions? Are you done and ready to walk out the door? (Make sure nobody needs you first.)
Homework, Preparation, and Advice Homework and Preparation: Email your facilitator(s) when you get your scores. We are as invested as you are. Let us know what you need next. Advice: Don’t wait until the day submissions are due to upload. Once you have uploaded, celebrate. Make it a big celebration! Be proud of yourself!
