1. Mathematical Sciences Third and Fourth Year Options Majoring in one subject • 30 credits MA + at least 10 credits of AM & ST • 30 credits AM + … • 30 credits ST + … Majoring in two subjects • 30 credits MA + 30 credits ST • …
Important rules • In order to major in any subject in Third and Fourth year, you have to take at least 20 credits of that subject in Second year • In order to major in any subject in Fourth year, you have to major in that subject in Third year
2. FMAS Second Year: • 5 credits AM + 20 credits MA + 20 credits MF + 15 credits ST • No choice offered in second year
FMAS cont’d Third and Fourth Year: • Mix of AM/MA/MF/ST and electives • Careful choice here can maximise chances for actuarial exemptions. • Alternatively, can take more AM/MA/ST modules useful for Financial Mathematics
3+4. Joint Honours with Physics Second, Third and Fourth Years: 30 credits of PY modules + 30 credits AM or 30 credits of MA modules No choice of AM/MA modules. Choice of PY in Third and Fourth years. Must have taken PY1052+PY1053 to take these degrees
