  2. Monday, Jan. 10th • Please write the rules for COMMAS in your DOL notebook: • 9. After 3 or more items in a series but NOT after the last item before AND. • 10. After an introductory word. • After the greeting of a friendly letter. • 12. After the closing of a friendly letter. • 13. Between the name of someone you are addressing and the comment. • 14. To clarify (make clear) a sentence. • 15. To place the last name before the first name. • 16. Before AND, BUT, OR when joining two complete sentences. • After or before a direct quotation that is followed/preceeded by “said” • To set off an word or group of words that explains a noun.
