2. Havant & Waterlooville U12's v Christchurch • Havant started the stronger of the two sides going close early on with two good efforts. Christchurch did attack but this was met and cleared superbly by Barker at the heart of the Havant defence. 5 minutes in and Taylor played the ball through to Mundy whose shot was saved by the keeper. A minute later Smith received the ball out wide and then crossed to Willett whose shot was just wide. Mundy then won a corner that was taken by Wilson and met with a glancing header by Barker that went close. On 13 minutes Christchurch had their backs against the wall and cleared straight to Mundy on the edge of the box who then hit a crisp strike into the back of the net. 2 minutes later the ball was played into the area by Nancarrow that was met by Willett who coolly guided the ball home for the second. Havant really put the pressure on 22 minutes Mundy received the ball wide on the left, drove into the box and pulled it back for Taylor who hit the ball first time into the net for the third. 4 minutes later the ball was crossed into the box that the Christchurch keeper came to collect but spilt with Wilson close on hand to poke home. Then a minute later the player of the 1st half Smith dribbled round three players and guided the ball into the net for a superb solo effort. 2 minutes later and Nancarrow played Willett in who placed the ball perfectly into the corner of the net. • Half Time 6 – 0 • The second half started in the same vane with Havant having the lions share of the ball and in the 33rd minute Willett hit a strike from 22 yards to complete his hat trick. The Jenkins hit a strike just over the bar. Jenkins soon had his name on thee score sheet after hitting the back of the net with a free kick from 25 yards. Havant were then awarded a penalty for handball that Deluchi hit but the keeper saved, but the referee wasn't ready and asked for it to be retaken. Deluchi then scored the retake in off the left hand upright. 5 minutes later Jenkins had another free kick from long distance that this time was defended off the line but only to Taylor who guided the ball home. 4 minutes later Taylor completed his hat trick after Jenkins played the ball into the six yard box for Taylor to guide home. Jenkins then crossed to Barker who flicked the ball up over his shoulder turned and pushed the ball under the keeper and into the net. In the last minute it seemed that every Havant player hit a strike on goal but it wouldn't go in until it landed at the feet of Jackson who finished it off. • Final Score 13 – 0 • Scorers: Willett 3, Taylor 3, Mundy, Jenkins, Deluchi, Barker, Wilson, Jackson, Smith. • Club Development Officers Man of the Match: Willett

Havant & Waterlooville v Whiteley • Mid Solent Under 12's Div B • Saturday 17th September • In the first few minutes of the game it was a midfield battle with both teams giving the ball away to easily. On 6 Minutes Havant had a corner that was played short and given away for Whiteley to counter attack and force Brutnell (who had replaced the usual keeper due injury) in the Havant goal into a fantastic double save. Whiteley did have the ball in the net but the referee had pulled the game back for a head injury on the keeper. 3 minutes later Whiteley broke free and Brutnell pulled off another good save to give Whiteley a corner that came to nothing. 2 minutes later and Brutnell did it again with another good save to keep Whiteley at bay. On 25 minutes Havant had their first real chance with Tate being put through for a 50/50 chance but was met by an opposition keeper who did well to just beat Tate to it. 4 minutes later and Whiteley broke again and what should have been a basic clearance was met with confusion between the unlucky Brutnell and a defender which allowed the Whiteley attacker nip in and score. • Half Time 0 - 1 • On 31 minutes Havant had another chance when Wesson was put through wide for him to pull the ball back to the edge of area but for Whiteley to clear. 7 minutes later McCluskey for Havant went on a solo run past 3 opposing players but could not find a finish to match a good run. On 53 minutes Brutnell who had now come out onto the pitch made a good strong tackle on a Whiteley player who unfortunately was injured in the process. This produced probaly the best sportsmanship of the game when the injured player was carried off the field to a round of applause. Not by his own spectators but by the Havant spectators. The game the petered out to a finish with Havant not being able to find a reply. Brutnell was very close to the man of the match but was beaten by Danny Wright whose work ethic and constant battling on the right side of midfield was second to none. • Full Time 0 – 1 • Club Development Officer Man of the Match: Danny Wright

6. Havant & Waterlooville U14's v Pickwick Youth Tigers • Portsmouth Cup • Early pressure was all Havants with Burns being released by Steere but his first time shot was saved well by the Pickwick keeper. The 9th minute brought the best move of the game when Hanson in defence passed to Favliones who then played a one two with Davies then played the ball to Kirby who crossed the ball into the area that was met with a strong header by Davies who had kept his run going but only for the ball to go just over. 5 minutes later Favliones collected the ball wide on the right and played a long ball through to Steere who was one on one with keeper who pulled off a fantastic save. Burns was then sent through by Steere who hit a strong strke that the keeper had no chance with for the first goal. 1 minute before the end of the first half Favliones played a one two with Steere on the right of the area and then puled the ball back to the edge of the area for Davies to hit an unstoppable strike into the bottom corner. • Half Time 2 – 0 • The second half took a little while to get going but on 49 minutes Pickwick broke away but when they got close to goal they shot wide. Then after some pressure from Pickwick the ball was cleared to Filary whose first touch was a little heavy and then collided with the onrushing keeper who had made a good save. 12 minutes later Davies played the ball through to Fordham who poked the ball goalwards with a deft touch to see the ball hit the upright. Havant were then awarded a corner that was met with a strong header by Davies but this time straight at the keeper. 2 minutes before time Davies played a good reverse ball through to Favliones who took one touch then hit a strike that was pushed onto the post by the keeper. • Full Time 2 – 0 • Club Development Officer Man of the Match: Jordan Davies

8. Havant & Waterlooville U18's v Liss F.C. • 9th October, Hampshire Cup 2nd Round. • The first 10 minutes was all Havant with the 9th giving an early look at the ability of the side. Barber at left back collected the ball and played a ball to Webb whose deft little flick with the outside of his foot found Goodwin who then played a good early ball into the path of Hobby only to be given offside. Three minutes later an it was a nervous moment for the Havant keeper. Wooldridge-Hartnett guided his header towards the keeper who let the ball slip through his hands but quickly turned and dove onto the ball. On 14 minutes Havant had a free kick just inside the opposition half that was met with flicked header from Webb that went just wide. Webb then collected the ball on the edge of the centre circle and played a good ball through the channel to Britton who tried to pull the ball back from tight on the goal line but was met with a good save from the Liss keeper. Liss went on the attack again and the Havant keeper ran out under the ball but fortunately the Liss striker hit his shot over the bar. Liss kept the pressure on and forced Wooldridge-Hartnett from the centre of defence into a good goal line clearance. Havant came back and they themselves forced the opposition keeper into a good save after Robinson played the ball to Webb who hit a good strike first time. Havants pressure paid off when in the 30th minute Lock took a free kick just inside the opposition half on the right hand side into the heart of the area. The Liss defence were caught napping and when they tried to clear the ball it fell to Webb whose clean strike found the back of the net. • Strangely, in the 38th minute the Havant keeper who had had the ball in his hands for a few times decided for the first time to kick the ball. This was possibly to his undoing as the receiving player took control well but then played a poor pass. Liss broke away and when they played the ball across the Liss striker hit a good shot that was met by an even better save. Unfortunately the rebound fell directly at a Liss players feet who struck first time into the open goal. • Half Time 1 -1 • Four minutes into the second half Havant found themselves behind after a cross from Liss was met by the Havant keeper but he could only palm the ball into the path of the onrushing striker who slotted home. Five minutes later the second half Lock played the ball down the line that was met by a great run by Britton who then pulled the ball across for Webb who forced the Liss keeper into a good save. 5 minutes later and another good move along the line then crossed to Hobby who set the ball to Smith whose first time strike was well saved. Havant went on to force more pressure but at best could only hit the bar. Webb then had cross met by Robinson but he pulled his shot wide. Havant paid the price for their missed chances when on 72 minutes Liss had a corner that when taken the referee blew up for a penalty for a push in the area. Havants keeper didn't have a chance. Havant did not stop playing and a few minutes later found themselves back in the game after Lock took a good corner into the danger area where Wooldridge-Hartnett hit a stunning volley into the back of the net. Havant pushed again when Webb crossed to the back post where Robinson was to coolly slot the ball home. That started the onslaught and Havant again pressed forward this time winning a corner in the 85 minute. Lock placed the ball and played the ball into the near post area where Webb had made a great diagonal run to play a deft volley between the keeper and the post. From a Liss goal kick Britton, who had been having a superb game in the middle of the park, headed the ball forward into the path of Searle who drew the keeper out and coolly lobbed the ball over his head and into the net for Havants fifth. • Final Score: 5 – 3 • Club Development Officer Man of the Match: • Lloyd Britton
