  2. Thesis • To write a thesis for your Genesis paper Combine a statement about the theme you’ve chosen with an answer to the following question. What is the author saying about life though the theme?

  3. Thesis II • It is not enough to say, In Genesis, we learn about bravery. • A good thesis makes a statement about the theme In Genesis, bravery is consistently rewarded. Or In Genesis, those who obey God are rewarded.

  4. Body • The rest of the paper expands on your thesis. • You want to find two or three stories from Genesis that illustrate your point.

  5. Body II • If my thesis is In Genesis, those who obey God are rewarded. My body paragraphs deal with stories that prove my point. Noah Abraham

  6. Introduction and Conclusion Introduction A paragraph that includes your thesis and sets the stage for your paper. Conclusion A paragraph that wraps up your main ideas in and answers the “So What?” question.

  7. So What? What does it all mean? Think about the big picture. Bravery is rewarded in Genesis and throughout literature from all time periods. The Bible is used to encourage people to obey God, even today.
