WHAT IS DISCRIMINATION? • Discrimination is to treat a person or group of persons different from the way we treat all other persons or groups in society. • Discrimination takes many different forms and affects many people.
Discrimination is not new • Discrimination has been used to keep certain people or groups of people down for many years. • Sadly discrimination is still used within even the most developed Countries including within Europe and the USA today.
Discrimination affects millions of citizens. • Discrimination is often based on grounds of a persons physical state, color, race, religion, social status and can take many forms. • How many forms of discrimination can you name?
