Highlight of Current Activities • Standardization activities on cooperative ITS are in progress in each PSO. • Preliminary draft new report on advanced ITS radiocommunications has been developed in ITU-R SG5 WP5A based on cooperation of TTA, ETSI and ARIB. • The PDN Report will be reviewed at WP5A meeting in November, 2011. • Cooperation on ITS Communications Standards lead by ISO/ITU is being discussed.

  3. Strategic Direction • The Task Force will conduct the information exchange on ITS relevant activities among PSOs. • To facilitate the information exchange, the Task Force should continue to invite interested PSOs to participate in the Task Force. • Considering the progress of ITS standardization activities in each ITS PPSO, the Task Force should discuss towards coordination of the ITS standardization activities.

  4. Challenges • Exchange of information on current ITS standardization activities should be facilitated. • Coordination of ITS standardization activities is desirable to avoid conflicting standards. • The information exchange and the discussions towards coordination should be led by the Task Force.

  5. Next Steps / Actions • Invite interested PSOs to participate in the Task Force. • Continue to exchange information and to facilitate cooperative activities among PSOs on ITS standardization. • Consider and discuss the possibility on coordination in ITS standardization activities among PSOs.

  6. Proposed Resolution (Optional) • Update of RESOLUTION GSC-15/14 (Intelligent Transport Systems Task Force ) will be discussed during GSC-16 meeting to reflect the recent activities in ITU-R SG5 WP5A, PSOs and others on ITS.
