To recognize how best to serve  LEARN • Club programs about women’s issues • Educate ourselves, explore issues, and reach a common understanding • Explore solutions and ideas • Seek opportunities to make a difference • Programs to recognize service of others • Women Recognition luncheons • Yellow rose awards

SERVICE: Enact actions that apply global human rights principles and Zonta International's Objects at the local level • Fund raising to be able to give financially • YWPA and Klausman Scholarships • GED and other scholarships to women • Time, talents, and materials contributed to support local women’s shelters • Clothes closets/donations

  7. SERVICE: Enact actions at the local level • Hands-on actions to help women in shelters or counseling programs • Dental screening for homeless women • Literacy and English tutorial programs • Financial literacy training • Gas cards to women who need assistance • Partner with Girl Scouts to make fleece blankets for children in hospital • Brunch to recognize, support, and provide informaiton to breast cancer survivors • SURGE Youth Program – leadership for young women • Community beautification – Zonta parks and tree planting

SERVICE: Local actions to contribute to service internationally • Nepal Social Services for education of young women • Birthing kits for Nepal • Support to program for teenage mothers living on the street in Accra, Ghana • Haitian Project: provide dental care; goat ministry; lessons on sewing, construction and carpentry; and healthcare education

Zonta Service Recognition Awards To give recognition to outstanding service projects undertaken by Zonta clubs or districts which benefit women or girls in the local community • To honor the clubs or districts for their outstanding performance in carrying out their service projects. • To foster the exchange of ideas showcasing service projects of clubs or districts on the Zonta International website and at the Zonta International Convention in 2014. • To draw up exemplars or models in service projects benefiting women or girls in the local community and giving visibility to Zonta International, hence, increasing the credibility of the organization.

Zonta Service Recognition Awards • To be awarded at the end of the biennium during the Zonta International Convention in Orlando in July 2014 • Six of the most outstanding Club service projects • Three top service projects sponsored by Districts • Submit up to 2 project nominations to • District Governor by Dec 30, 2013 • (More details online and from Governor)

  13. Zonta Service Recognition Awards All district projects and all club project finalists submitted by the governors will be exhibited during the 2014 Convention  So show off all your great deeds! Don’t hide your light under a basket -- Don’t forget to submit!
