Teaching Elective Requirements • Attend 3 of 4 quarterly evening Didactic Sessions: 4:45pm–6:30pm • Teach at 5 PCM 2 small group sessions and do teaching reflection within 1 week • Complete 5 PCM 2 lecturer reflections the day of your small group within 1 week • Two master teacher reflections (you pick the 2 teachers) completed before January 1st
Attend 3 of 4 quarterly evening Didactic Sessions: 4:45pm–6:30pm • Each of the quarterly sessions is offered twice: • Summer 9A/B (July 26 or Aug 2) • Fall 10A/B (October 25 or November 1) • Winter 11A/B (January 24 or 31) • Spring 11C March 14 or 12A March 28) • Match day=March 17 • SSOM 160 • R2 Department of Med, Peds, others

Teach at 5 PCM 2 small group sessions and do teaching reflection within 1 week • Each group should have selected leader • Sent schedule to Maureen • Give to facilitators • You may not have an MS4 for every Tuesday • Some Tuesdays may have >2 • Consider putting together a schedule of what each M4 is doing each month

PCM 2 • Lectures begin at 1:15, SSOM Rm 190 • Contact/page your facilitator(s) and co-facilitators before class -discuss what you will do -discuss what you’d like to cover -do NOT give MS2s a second lecture -answer any questions MS2s may have from the lecture • Assigned questions for small groups up to mid-semester break to get MS2s reading the Bate’s textbook • EKG answers, assigned Q answers. CXR answers are in a folder by Les in SSOM 310
Write ups • Semester 3 write-ups (two histories) • Go back to patient’s bedside whenever possible with MS2 • First, you review, evaluate, give feedback • Try to review with them after small group • Don’t take write-ups with you to away electives! • Second, facilitator reads ands gives feedback • Oral presentation not required, but…. • NEW: Strict Deadlines for each write-up • History #1 9/10/10 • History #2 10/22/10

Small groups • If you are on call Monday, do NOT come to PCM 2 on Tuesday afternoon • Let your facilitator know who will be there each week (if schedule changes)
Small groups • Ask for permission from elective or required clerkship director to come to PCM 2 or OB orientation • Ask EARLY • Don’t assume PCM 2 “trumps” your daily schedule • CANNOT COME TO PCM 2 during Neuro or subIs • Hopefully no more than 2 MS4s per week
