  1. You and your SLTA – a two way relationship This presentation is designed to familiarize you with using the “new” SLTA-10 with WIN2k and XP

  2. The Software • User must install the ETCLink Utilities (this can be found on the service technician page.) • This will install two pieces of software • The SLTA Link Manager • EELoadNT

  3. The hardware • The SLTA • PC-SLTA Cable aka Serial Cable (7050B7003) • The SLTA-10/CEM Cable (7050B7022) allows you to connect from the SLTA to the front of the CEM. • The SLTA-10/ETCLink Cable (7050B7023) allows you to connect from the SLTA to any ETCLink port. This is rarely used. • PC running ETCLink Utilities • Power adapter

  4. Setting up the SLTA • Install the ETCLink Utilities Software • Open Light Manager and in a generic configuration click on Setup Serial PC Interface • Select COM Port 1 and click OK. Click OK if your PC asks whether it can modify your config.sys

  5. Turn off your PC and connect the SLTA to the PC via serial cable. • Check your dipswitch settings on the SLTA. • For WIN2K and XP, dips 4 and 5 should be ON or UP. • For WIN98 and below, dip 4 should be the only dip ON or UP. • Turn on your PC

  6. Start the SLTA Link Manager – this software creates the handshake and allows the PC and the SLTA to talk the Lon-talk language.

  7. Click on the Link button and click New • Enter a name for the connection • Select Local as the connection type • Click Next • At COM Ports, select the applicable COM Port and click Next • Next to Command line, click Browse and direct windows to the following directory: C:\lonworks\bin\sltalink.exe • Click Finish

  8. The LinkManager is now configured – Let’s connect to the SLTA! • Click on the chain link within the LinkManager program. If the light remains green for more than 20 seconds, you have correctly connected to the SLTA.

  9. It’s time to load in a config! • Open EELoadNT – You will use this to send and receive Sensor configurations

  10. Let’s get a config! • At the command prompt, type in: eeloadnt –ftest.bin –ga –v • Test.bin, will be the file name • -ga will get (g) the config. from a(all) racks on the ETCLink network • If you wanted to get the config from a specific rack, type in –g followed by the rack number eeloadnt –ftest.bin –g1 -v

  11. Where’d My Config Go? • The config is saved in the directory of EELoadNT, which in this case is: C:\ETC\Linkutil • All of the configurations that you intend to send to the CEM should reside in this directory.

  12. Let’s Send a Configuration! • Sending a configuration is very similar to receiving a configuration. Within EELoadNT, enter this command: eeloadnt –ftest.bin –sa –v • The only difference between the get and send command is –sa (the “s” stands for send)

  13. Any Questions?irgendwelche fragen?¿preguntas? 質問か。
