Habits of Mind Icebreaker Listening with Understanding and Empathy “Understand Others! Devoting mental energy to another person’s thoughts and ideas. Make an effort to perceive another’s point of view and emotions.”
Habits of Mind Icebreaker Listening with Understanding and Empathy • Think of a time, either personal or professional when you felt that you were not heard or misunderstood. Use the RP cards as a tool for open ended questions and gaining understanding. • How did the experience of being heard/listening make you feel? • How can you bring this back to your program?
Meeting Norms • Today, let’s all focus on Equity and Diversity! • Stay mindful that all efforts are fair and accepting of everyone involved • (Especially in thinking about RTI – which we will get to in a minute!)
